The photos below are from a Floating Rowing Club, which was designed and built for the University of British Columbia Rowing team.

This project has 15.000 sq. ft. (1,400 m2) of finished space plus 10,000 sq. ft. of plaza floats. All on tidal water with 16 tidal range.

The photo below is a 27,000 sq. ft. (2,500 m2) Platform for a Floating Village in Lake Powell Arizona which has a water level fluctuation of over 150 feet. You can visit this one next time you are in Las Vegas, it is finished now.

When did it all begin?

Together with some of our partners we created a new era of positive floatation, one that left the vessel behind. The modern engineering concepts have not only transformed the marina industry, they have opened up waterfront development to creative innovations both achievable and affordable. This floatation system is key to innovative design and development of waterfront real estate for higher and better uses.

The following features are requirements in each and every floatation platform.

UNSINKABLE

Positive floatation means unsinkable under any conditions. Because the water floating system is a platform, not a vessel, there is no need for bilge pumps, alarms or inspection hatches.

FIREPROOF

Modern residential, and commercial uses, as well as marinas, demand a non-combustible and explosion-proof system. The marina system eliminates combustible structural wooden whalers.

MAINTENANCE-FREE

The floating platforms never require expensive haul-out for painting or scraping below the waterline.

ONE PIECE CONSTRUCTION

Floating foundation platforms must be one piece to allow construction to meet local building codes. Typical infrastructure and marina sections are one piece, 60 long.

MASS or WEIGHT

To provide a safe, gentle ride, a quality floating platform must be heavy, with a low centre of gravity.

DURABLE

The floating platform must last longer than the structure built on it.

RIGID

The floating platform is built on land with the rigidity to withstand launching stresses, particularly when buildings are included.

INSULATED

The floating platform is completely insulated for variations in water temperature, including ice conditions.

INSURABLE

Our floats qualify for standard insurance as they are permanent, fireproof and unsinkable.

PORTABLE

The water floating system is engineered to allow production of floating platforms and marina systems in remote and foreign locations without expensive facilities. Furthermore, these floating systems are designed with delivery options of trucking or towing. To date, floating platforms have been towed over 400km on the North American coastline, and trucked across the United States.

FLEXIBLE

Services such as wastewater drainage, tankage, storage, electrical, etc. are incorporated within the float to accommodate local building codes. In-slab heating systems are another popular option.

ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE

All materials in the floating system are non-toxic.

CONNECTOR

The structural concrete design and patented connector eliminate dependence on structural wooden whalers and through-rods.
